JOANNE PENNEY

MANAGING DIRECTOR

I trained in hotel management and spent several years working in venues and for event management companies. I always knew I could do a great job of delivering fantastic events and really responding to clients’ needs, so, 25 years ago, I founded JP Events. The team has grown over the years, and so has our list of satisfied customers, many of whom I’ve worked closely with for much of that time. I am immensely proud to put my name to our events, which we deliver on time, on budget and on point, time after time.

Jane joined us nine years ago, and her previous high-pressure experience in the ambulance service has served her well in the events industry! Combined with her organisational skills, learnt in her role as a prestigious PA, Jane’s no-nonsense approach is lapped up by clients – they love her and just keep coming back!

With 20+ years’ experience of the hospitality industry under her belt, Lisa brings heaps of commercial awareness and ambition to everything she does, plus she always delivers on her promises (even when she’s promised to buy the drinks!)

Alia’s main focus is on our three partner venues and weddings portfolio. She understands the intricacies of creating that special day, plus has heaps of knowledge of Asian weddings.

Michelle spends her time telling the world all about us and letting you know what we’re up to. Aligning our corporate brand with our digital presence, the website and printed material are her babies. And clients love her work so much, several have asked her to bring life to their websites, collateral and events too.

Not only do we enjoy working with some of the top national venues, they enjoy working with us too! So much so that we’ve developed a unique relationship with some of them to manage all their conference, event and wedding bookings, from enquiry to execution. These venues can only be booked through us so give us a call if one of them looks like your perfect site.

Hallé St Peter’s is a deconsecrated church in the centre of Manchester, perfect for weddings and dinners, but also offering a distinctive and individual setting for corporate events. We are proud to manage their event arrangements from start to finish.

Canal Mills is a creative venue in Leeds, famous for its pop-up restaurants, live and electronic music events, fashion shows and theatre projects. Too busy with the funky stuff to manage all their business enquiries, they’ve asked us to help out with conferences and exhibitions. It provides an unusual, trendy setting for a meeting, or a blank canvas for something more imaginative.

Church, Leeds – what do you do with a nightclub during daylight hours? Turn it into a swanky conference and event venue of course! We’re excited to be managing this space for them and offering an utterly exceptional option for your group.

The Edgar Wood Building was designed by architect Edgar Wood, father of the Arts and Craft movement, and built at the turn of the twentieth century. Originally the Christian Scientists’ first UK church, the venue is now a beautiful and romantic setting for weddings.

OUR PREFERRED SUPPLIERS

We work with a preferred florist, mainly because they don’t just do amazing flowers but seriously cool props and decorations too. Catering for celebrations across all faiths, occasions and locations, we trust them to deliver magnificence.

We also partner with a street food vendor, Halal and Kosher caterers, so we know we can offer the perfect spread for your event or celebration
